Exercise – an effective ‘treatment’ for heart disease patients
A recent study has found that exercise is an effective strategy to provide improved outcomes for heart disease patients.
The study concluded that heart disease patients who improved their cardiovascular fitness had a significantly reduced risk of of death or further complications compared with those who did not seek to improve their fitness. The researchers also stated that they hoped to encourage doctors to consider prescribing physical activity as a supplement to medicines for heart disease patients.
