Pelvic floor and core health is an often unrecognised and essential aspect of fitness for both women and men.

Without intending to, many traditional exercise programs may exacerbate existing issues in your pelvic floor, stomach wall and back. This may be especially the case if you are pregnant, have had a baby(s), are overweight or have been inactive for a number of years. This may have significant implications for your long term health and pain-free function.

At Life PT, we are passionate about helping you get a sweat up, get stronger and exercise… safely.

We have completed the ‘Pelvic Floor First’ training and a number of our team have also undertaken further study in pre/post natal and core health through Burrell Education. We are uniquely positioned to work with the following groups –

  • Women who trying to become pregnant/are pregnant
  • Post natal women (please note that if you have ever had a baby, you are considered post natal!)
  • Men or women who have experienced continence issues with or without exercise
  • Men or women with back pain
  • Men or women with extensive involvement in sports or exercise that places high demand on their core. Eg running, skipping, team sports, CrossFit athletes
  • People looking to reintroduce exercise following abdominal surgery

Please speak with us if you have specific concerns so that we can ensure that you are working with an appropriately qualified and experienced trainer.

FAQs

Do I need a referral to book an appointment?

No, a referral is not needed. It may be helpful for us to speak with any health practitioners that have been involved in your recent care and we will discuss this with you at your first appointment.

Can I bring my baby or small children along to my sessions?

While we encourage our clients to try and arrange appointment times when their children are being cared for, we understand that this isn’t always possible. Our trainers are police checked and have experience managing babies/small children during your session. We also encourage any clients who do bring children to their session to come prepared with healthy snacks and alternative entertainment for their children such as an electronic device or drawing materials.
